Richard E. Hyman, Executive Director, was a diver, photographer and navigator aboard Jacques Cousteau’s famed ship Calypso. His memoir FROGMEN, details his four expeditions.
Katerina Zapfe is a masters student at Clemson University. Kat manages the website while contributing creative content, e.g. writing and scientific illustrations. She aims to combine fine art and science through outreach programs, education initiatives, and scientific research. Her current work focuses on phylogenomics and diversification dynamics in marine fishes. She enjoys photography, scuba diving, and caring for her ever-growing orchid collection.
Kristina Zapfe graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Communication Media. An avid conservationist and lifelong explorer, Kristina strives to use her artistic abilities and experience in digital media to promote the importance of ecological awareness.
Hetal Patel is entering her sophomore year at the University of Southern California, where she is studying Environmental Sciences. She is passionate about conservation and volunteerism, and enjoys traveling. She plans to study abroad in New Zealand or Europe while completing her undergraduate degree.
Zach MacMillan-Kenny is entering his junior year at Dalhousie University located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where he is studying Marine Biology. He is passionate about life within the ocean, conservation, film-making and photography. He plans to pursue underwater film-making like Jacques Cousteau.
